Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail traverses the Appalachian Mountain Range for over 2,100 miles from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine. It extends through fourteen eastern states (Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine). The Appalachian Trail passes through Putnam County from the Bear Mountain Bridge in Philipstown through Putnam Valley as it heads north to Dutchess County and beyond.
