California Hill State Forest

California Hill State Forest consists of 982 acres in the Town of Kent and Putnam Valley in Putnam County. There are currently no designated trails on this state forest. The property does provide large undeveloped areas well suited for hiking, hunting and nature viewing and geocatching. There are no designated camp sites on this property. Back country camping is allowed. Hunting and trapping are permitted on this property in accordance with all game regulations, unless otherwise posted. Fishing on Pudding Street Pond accessible from Waywayanda Ct. (off Pudding St). Cartop boat access and shore fishing. Warm water fishery. Non-motorized boats only. The ramp is suitable for cartop boat access. Parking is available along Pudding Street (2 cars), Waywayanda Court (4 cars), and off of Gordon Road (5 cars).
