Fashion and Leisure in the Hudson Highlands, 1850-1950

Hosted by: Putnam County History Museum

Date and time: November 21, 2012,

The exhibit runs through December 16th. The exhibit brings to life the history of the Hudson Highlands as a summer residence for fashionable society. White cotton, lace-trimmed "lingerie dresses", so called because they are made of the same materials as undergarments, form the heat of this exhibition. They were worn in garden parties, luncheons, and teas at the turn of the century.
