With Lake Carmel as the backdrop, Putnam County Dance Project will perform and invite audience participation in a free outdoor festival combining artistry and environmental advocacy. Families are invited to bring a blanket, and enjoy live music and dancing by the lake. While this event celebrates local Putnam County bodies of water, Global Water Dances is a worldwide initiative linked to coinciding performances in over 100 countries via online broadcast.
The event will feature two pieces choreographed by members of the Putnam County Dance Project, exploring water issues specific to Lake Carmel, and featuring music composed and played by local musician Pierre DeGallande. The performance will culminate with a global dance performed simultaneously worldwide, and a call to action for clean water. To learn more about the Global Water Dances initiative visit
The performers have a range of experience including dancing with Broadway tours, and with dance companies such as Isadora Duncan Dance and Pilobolus. You don’t want to miss this local and unique dance event!
